sessions

Hi all, is there a way of using sessions login with drastic tools, so only a user can edit their own grid, basically so the grid shows the records of $user = $session["username"]. I have tried to incorporate my current site but i may have to re-do all my logins and sessions again. Any help appreciated as i am not totally confident of making major changes.
